Historia analyzes each changed blob once, follows symbols across revisions, and stores deterministic retrieval documents in a local SQLite index. The core workflow needs no LLM, MCP server, vector database, or embedding service.

Temporal index

Walk complete commit ancestry and process only newly reachable commits and changed blobs.

Symbol lineage

Trace declarations, references, structural similarity, and renamed code through repository history.

Local retrieval

Search durable history from a content-addressed SQLite store that can be backed up and repaired.
